Archibeats CIC is a social enterprise specialising in youth engagement and co-design services for architects, local authorities, developers, and youth organisations. Our mission is to empower young voices to shape housing and regeneration projects addressing the demand for meaningful community involvement.
We bridge the gap between stakeholders and the community, ensuring young voices play a pivotal role in shaping sustainable urban environments.
Our approach includes innovative workshops, live design projects, and strategic consultations that align with London’s housing needs. We have a diverse revenue stream and envisage to reinvest profits into self-funded programs that support underfunded youth services. This model not only meets the immediate needs of stakeholders but also fosters long-term social value.
Our mission is to engage and upskill young people, empowering them to influence housing design and regeneration projects while fostering professional and personal growth. Our vision is to establish Archibeats CIC as the leading facilitator of youth-focused co-design, contributing to inclusive and sustainable urban regeneration across London and beyond. Through our cause we look to work with our partners to reduce youth crime and encourage youth employment.
BACKGROUND
Archibeats CIC offer a unique, community-driven program to engage at-risk youth and young offenders through architecture and music. With the aim of reducing youth re offending rates and providing these young people with valuable skills and opportunities, Archibeats CIC offers a six-week program that empowers participants to design and execute a live project within their community. By fostering creativity, professional development, and community engagement, we provide young people with a meaningful alternative and are focused to prevent young people re-entering traditional Youth Offender Institutions (YOIs) and offer all a path towards self-sufficiency, & positive social impact.
Government statistics highlight the high costs and limited efficacy of YOIs in reducing youth re offending rates. The UK Ministry of Justice estimates that housing a young person in a YOI can cost between £76,000 and £100,000 annually, with daily expenses reaching £200-£300 per youth. Despite these high costs, youth re offending rates remain a significant challenge, with approximately 38-40% of young offenders re-offending within 12 months of release. These numbers underscore the need for alternative programs effectively addressing the root causes of offending, such as lack of skills, community support, and viable employment pathways.
At Archibeats CIC we can provide a service at the fraction of the cost delivered by our commitment to legacy while ensuring no child or young person will require the need to enter an old fashioned institution or re-offend again.
